I love the idea of living a curated life. I first heard of this concept through Jason Silva. Tim Ferris fabulously refers to it as " luxury lifestyle design". What is a curated life? Glad you asked.
A curated life is a life lived on purpose. It's exercising your freedom of choosing the life you want to live and boldly walking in the direction of your dreams. It's understanding that in each moment you have a plethora of choices. It's about making those choices deliberately and not living by default. It's refusing to stagnate and settle. It's saying fuck you to conformity and fuck yes to your desires.
It's understanding that although the basic nature of life is groundless...This is not about being neurotic and trying to control every moment. It's about surrendering to the moment while remaining purposeful in your actions, reactions, and behaviors. Letting go of the things you can't control and taking control of the ones you can.
If you practice the art of curating your life regularly-life can take on a lucid dreamlike quality to it. You can literally compose moments and your surroundings the same way music is composed. For example you can curate a perfect morning by not hitting the snooze button and getting up early to create a beautiful & delicious breakfast, light a scented candle, play music to get you going for the day. Or create a gallery wall in your home with different kinds of art that inspires you every day when you look at it.
The realization that you have infinite choices can be totally paralyzing -but if you act- it can also be the most liberating realization of your life. It's your choice.
So live intentionally. Relentlessly chase inspiration. Unapolegetically own what it is you want no matter how outrageous it may be.
Live like you fucking mean it.
